A post for Atlantans from your friendly neighborhood caffeine addict. Drink responsibly!

Anyone who knows me is aware of my affinity for list making.
Equipped with the J&J vaccine, a cushy remote research position, and a closet of cute summer clothes I couldn’t wear over quarantine last year, I spent my summer exploring Atlanta coffee shops. The product of my endeavors is a shortlist (yes, I actually went to more shops than what’s included below) of the BEST ATL coffee shops. Scroll down to the end of the post to access a Google Doc with my top 20 favorites.
Putting this together was a true labor of love. The coffee spots are ranked in no particular order by the overall aesthetic, working environment, and other factors like parking and beverage tastiness. Peruse at your leisure & boost your productivity by supporting local business. Happy sipping:)
Muchacho
Rating: 8/10
Location: Reynoldstown
My Take: Noisy but not too bad. Very funky with a solid 70's vibe. Set up in an old post office building with eclectic patio seating- shady and covered seating available. Definitely would recommend their outdoor patios, but come on a cool day because it heats up fast, even in the shade. Definitely a fun hangout spot to people watch on the weekends.
Vibe & Aesthetic: Funky Fresh West Coast
Parking: Lot
Favorite Drink: Blue matcha latte
Brash Coffee House
Rating: 10/10
Location: Buckhead, perfect location - indoor/outdoor covered seating
My Take: Connected to the Atlanta History Center. The interior is inviting with beautifully designed indoor seating that includes a quiet upper mezzanine. Outdoor benches are lovely and covered. The indoor environment is loud during lunch, but usually dies down after 2PM. Brash is maybe my fav coffee place in the city.
Vibe & Aesthetic: Comfortably posh & Modern
Parking: Garage
Favorite Drink: Iced Almond milk vanilla latte OR plain black coffee (yes, the coffee is that good)
Diaries Cold Brew Bar
Rating: 9/10
Location: Reynoldstown. Amazing outdoor and indoor seating
My Take: AMAZING WORKSPACE. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are industrial minimalist chic. The place feels edgy, but somehow still comes off as a cozy neighborhood staple. Also, there's a brewery next door, so end your productive day by swapping the coffee for local beer!
Vibe & Aesthetic: Dark Minimalist Chic
Parking: Paid lot
Favorite Drink: Mayan Mocha
East Pole Coffee Co.
Rating: 9/10
Location: Brookwood hills industrial park
My Take: Indoor seating is solid- there are tables and high counters as well as a tiered stair area with cushions as well. Outdoor patio is nice. This place is SO good for remote work that it fills quickly. Good seats are highly coveted so show up early in the morning and prepare to camp out all day, especially on weekends.
Vibe & Aesthetic: Industrial minimalist
Parking: Lot and street
Favorite Drink: Chocolate Milk Drink & the seasonal drink ALWAYS slapsss
Kula Coffee
Rating: 10/10
Location: Kind of on the edge of Buckhead. Atlanta Tech Village
My Take: The outdoor seating is near a road but weirdly not too noisy. The indoor workspace is crisp, modern white with lots of seating. Very quiet. I also love this place because it's a social enterprise/nonprofit that empowers Rwandan coffee farmers.
Vibe & Aesthetic: Crisp silicon valley with a slight Scandinavian feel
Parking: Garage (remember to get your parking validated or you'll pay $12)
Favorite Drink: Lavender honey latte
Prevail Union
Rating: 10/10
Location: Westside Provisions / Howell Mill Rd.
My Take: This. place. is. unreal. The most productive I’ve ever been at a coffee shop. The interior design is industrial mid-century modern meets velvety private school library. Highly recommend coming here to work. Also, I've noticed the patrons are always cute... Find you a new coffee house boo.
Vibe & Aesthetic: Cozy yet cool Mid-century Modern
Parking: Street or paid lot
Favorite Drink: Fig Latte w/ almond milk OR the Alabama Stinger
Perc Coffee
Rating: 9/10
Location: Belvedere Park
My Take: LOVE. This place is super fun. The colors, design, and workspace feel perfectly tailored to cool, young, creative professionals on their grind. The drink menu is so creative with combinations you've never heard of but are too intrigued not to try. The only downside is how damn loud it is. High ceilings = wicked echoes.
Vibe & Aesthetic: Artsy industrial chic
Parking: Lot/street
Favorite Drink: The Bobby Jones (Coca-Cola, espresso, and lemon peel served over ice) is among the best coffee drinks I've ever tried.
Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee & Social
Rating: 10/10
Location: Old Fourth Ward (O4W)
My Take: Among my top favs on this list. Funky modern interior with warm wood grains, soft Edison bulbs, and crisp subway tiles. There are individual study rooms to grind in as well as ample communal seating. Baristas are so friendly and nice too. Another pro is that Ponce City Market is within walking distance, so you can squeeze in work and play.
Vibe & Aesthetic: Edison Vintage Industrial
Parking: Limited garage / limited street
Favorite Drink: Iced Caramanilla Latte OR The Manu w/almond milk (tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch)
